COP 28 - Health ranks high at climate summit in Malawi
Delegates discuss health ahead of COP 28 to be hosted by United Arab Emirates in Dubai

LILONGWE, Malawi (Planet Defence) The United Nations Conference of Parties (COP28) is poised to include a greater emphasis on health issues at global level when participants from across the world convene again later this year in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Ahead of COP 28 Malawi hosted a regional summit on climate and health in Lilongwe the capital that was strategically designed to provide such a platform with non state actors from across the region which ended on 25th August, 2023.
The gathering was based on the premise that the intersection of health and climate change should be given the stage to broaden discussion with the aim to amplify Africa stance in the face of climate change challenges.
Successful emphasis lies in building consensus among health and climate change stakeholders’ road map towards COP28.
Some of the Institutions that lead include the Leadership for Environmental and Development, Pan African Climate Justice Alliance, Family Health International, African Institute for Development Policy and Path Foundation Phillipines Inc.
