NPC, Farm Radio Trust sign MOU to popularise Malawi Vision 2063

LILONGWE, Malawi (Planet Defence) - Malawi’s National Planning Commission (NPC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Farm Radio Trust that will facilitate a robust partnership in implementing and popularisation of the Malawi 2063 national vision and MW2063 first 10-year implementation plan.
The signing ceremony took place at NPC premises in Lilongwe where Director General Dr. Thomas Munthali and Farm Radio Trust, Chief Executive Officer, Mr. George Vilili signed the agreement on behalf of their institutions.
Munthali expressed excitement and optimism at the MOU, saying it will ensure that messages on the MW2063, particularly around the first pillar of, “Agricultural Productivity and Commercialisation,” reach key stakeholders, including rural communities and farmers.
“This agreement will empower farmers and all stakeholders in agriculture and spur them into action,” explained Munthali.
On his part, Vilili said the MoU will play a critical role in raising people's awareness through their various platforms ensuring, that Malawi 2063 is being achieved.
By the year 2063, Malawi is expected to have a vibrant economy that will support a home-grown development agenda. The year 2063 was specifically targeted because the country will have attained 100 years of self-governance.
